About Masonboro Arts

Masonboro Arts strives to provide quality classical artistic skills to all interested children and adults. With a focus on basic discipline, students are given the tools for crafting their natural abilities into increasingly advancing, dignified artistic products at prescribed intervals of time, depending upon individual readiness and application of success factors.
Masonboro Arts was founded in May of 1995. Originally a ballet and piano program, Masonboro Arts has evolved into a total academy of music and dance arts with an extensive, excellent curriculum serving the needs of those in pursuit of quality instruction.

Pam Brown (Dance) is a native of Washington D.C. where she began her dance lessons as a very young child. She was raised in New York state where she continued her study at the Ballet Arts in Beacon while performing with the Dutchess Ballet Company. She continued her ballet studies under the auspices of the School of American Ballet. As a teenager she continued with Mary Day at the Washington School of Ballet and eventually with Ruth Ambrose at the Boston Conservatory. Pam came to North Carolina as a young adult and began performing with Theater in the Park, The Raleigh Civic Ballet, as well as with the Hillsboro Street Modern Dance Project. She has appeared in many productions in New York, Boston, Washington DC, Cincinnati, Raleigh, and Wilmington NC. After time off to raise her three children, she returned to the dance arena in both the teaching and performing aspects. She is now devoted full time to teaching dance, along with her local and national performances with the Hi Steppers. Pam has degrees in French and in Health Information Management. She plays several musical instruments, is a certified teacher and a Registered Health Information Administrator. She is a member of the North Carolina Dance Alliance and the American Health Information Management Association.
